Our Story
Findhorn Essences grew out of a passion for nature intelligence, nature connection and human nature.
Marion Leigh, a homeopath and wellbeing expert, set out to create powerful essences, by harnessing the natural, healing, properties of pure, Scottish plants.
The story of Findhorn Essences begins in 1992, when Marion moved to the small fishing village of Findhorn and instantly fell in love with the flora and fauna of this area of wild, untouched beauty.
After returning to Findhorn from Australia where Marion had been working in homeopathy, a newfound passion for experimenting with the flowers of Findhorn led into the new possibilities of using plants from the sacred, nearby west coast islands of Erraid and Iona.
Our first essences were made from the Findhorn Flowers of which we have 35 in our heritage range, followed by the 7 tree and 7 chakra essences. These were later blended to formulate our best selling combination essence range of 24.
Marion invited Findhorn community members to try and trial her essences and became involved with developing the brand identity after testing and refining the essences for emotional wellbeing and support.Â
In 2000, the company Nature Spirits Ltd was born after Marion’s move to Cullerne House and gardens. As a practicing homeopath, Marion’s Findhorn Essence consultancy grew before developing a Handbook and series of educational courses with the help of daughter Iona.
Now, the family team knew they had a very special product range that they were excited to share with the world. Marion began to tour her teachings and the Findhorn Essences gained international trade and distribution. We continue to be sold globally and now teach online courses across many countries.
Findhorn Essences have grown over the years into an award-winning brand, loved today across the world. We are now featured in over 50 global health stores across the world, with plans to remain one of the top global essence producers for another 30 years.
